"Be the Change"

Welcome to my personal webpage.

Starting September 2020, I am the Mechatronics Engineering Program Director and Coordinator in the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. Academically, I am an Assistant Professor at the Mechatronics Engineering department, Ain Shams University. Recently, I joined the German University in Cairo as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Mechatronics Engineering department.

In terms of research, in 2015, I co-founded the Multi-Robot Systems (MRS) research group with Prof. Imam Morgan. Currently, I am the research group director. The MRS research group is a leading international research group in the fields of robotics, intelligent transportation systems and cooperative/collaborative systems. (Please visit our research group webpage for more information: https://www.mrs-lab.com/).
In 2018, I obtained my PhD on Autonomous vehicles localization and control architectures under the supervision of Prof. Farid Tolbah (R.I.P.) and Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Abdel Aziz at the Autotronics Research Lab at Ain Shams University. In 2019, I concluded my four-year study of MBA specializing in two majors: strategic planning and marketing management. My MBA thesis under the supervision of Prof. Saneya ElGalaly addressed the relationship between strategic entrepreneurship and SMEs’ performance. Earlier, in 2015, I obtained a Diploma in business administration that introduced me to the world of business studies.
In  2014 , I obtained my first MSc. Degree on Coordination of Autonomous vehicles for intersection management under the supervision of Prof. Sherif Hammad and Prof. Magdy Abdelhameed (R.I.P.). Driven by my curiosity to explore new directions, I pursued and obtained, in 2015, my second MSc. Degree on Micro-robots teleoperation and control for targeted drug delivery under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Islam Khalil and Prof. Imam Morgan.

My current research direction is on modeling, control and optimization of multi cooperative systems. I mainly focus on applications that are related to intelligent transportation systems (ranging from single vehicle up to various applications of cooperative driving such as intersection management, vehicle platoons and others). I also focus on applications related to robotics and more recently soft robots and their wide growing fields. Utilization of Optimization in different problems is one of my key research focus points, more specifically meta-heuristic optimization techniques such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) and others.

My research goal is to bridge the gap that exist between industry and research entities. This can only be achieved through the dedicated efforts of cooperating individuals working in harmony and synergy in a strong team.
I believe that what we can achieve together surpasses what anyone of us can achieve solely. =)
